Nigeria’s Youngest Lawmaker Kashamu Empowers Farmers With Fertilisers
The Minority Whip and Member representing Ijebu North Constituency 1 in the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. AbdulRasheed Kashamu this Saturday empowered farmers in his constituency. Kashamu, 27, is the son of the late Senator Buruji Kashamu and Nigeria’s youngest lawmaker.
The empowerment programme, which was held at his Constituency Office, OmoIlu Complex in Ijebu Igbo, attracted beneficiary farmers from various wards, villages and farm settlements who benefitted from the distribution of fertilizers. A former State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and State Coordinator of the Omoilu Foundation, Prince Adeleke Shittu welcomed and congratulated all the beneficiaries.
Delivering a goodwill message, Kashamu, who was represented by one of his Constituency Officers, Mr Hassan Hammed, said if farmers were empowered, farm produce would be abundant and thereby enhance food security. Speaking on behalf of the farmers, Chief Akanji Musa, a Baale (Village Head) from Boleja-Iya Oga Village, appreciated Kashamu’s gesture.
Another farmer, Alfa Ismail Sulaiman, said the empowerment programme was timely and commendable. Notable PDP leaders such as Chief (Oloriitun) Rotimi Yisau and Alhaja Busurat Adeoye (Bussy), among others, commended the lawmaker and urged him to keep up the good work.
