Nigeria’s Youngest Lawmaker, Rasheed Kashamu Rejoices With Muslims Over Eid-El-Fitri

Nigeria’s youngest lawmaker and the Minority Whip of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdul Rasheed Kashamu has congratulated Muslims faithful on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitri celebration.

Kashamu, who represents Ijebu North Constituency 1, admonished Muslims to continue with the virtues of discipline, self-restraint and piety that the Ramadan season encapsulated.

“It is important that, as a people, we do not let down our guards and return to our old ways of doing things. We must strive to continue on the path of discipline, self-restraint and the piety that Ramadan represents. When we do this, the Almighty Allah is pleased and he would show us mercy and grant our prayers,” Kashamu said.

The lawmaker also used the occasion to show love towards his constituents as he distributed foodstuffs and cash to the people.

This is a tradition that Hon. Kashamu inherited from his late philanthropist father, the late Senator Buruji Kashamu, and has continued with since the latter’s passage in 2020.

He urged the people to celebrate the Eid-el-Fitri with moderation, offering prayers to the Almighty Allah for peace and progress in our communities, towns, cities and the nation at large.
